Nokia Launching £175 Sim Free Smartphone

Nokia 603 BelleThe Nokia 603 is set to enter the more affordable end of the market with a sim free price point of £175. Given that it seems to pack quite a powerful punch when it comes to hardware, this will make it one of the more attractive handsets for pay as you go buyers.
The Nokia 603 will run Symbian Belle, the updated platform which has been well received by critics despite previous Symbian smartphones getting a rough time under the media spotlight.

What makes the 603 special is its 1GHz processor and 3.5 inch display, which has a decent resolution of 640x360. Few other mobiles at this price point can
boast a 1GHz chip and, according to Nokia, it makes it great for multitasking, as well as enabling the user interface to feel snappy and swift under your fingertips.

Photographic capabilities have not been ignored as the Nokia 603 has a five megapixel camera with 720p HD video recording. This is the kind of function you would look for on a mobile twice its RRP, so Nokia must be admired for squeezing so much into this package.

If you like gaming then the inclusion of both Angry Birds and Fruit Ninja as standard will make the Nokia 603 particularly attractive. GPS, Bluetooth, Wi-Fi, 3G and even NFC (Near Field Communication) for contactless payments are all included.

Because this sim free handset will be so cheap, it is unsurprising to see Nokia targeting the youth market with the exterior design, as the phone's chassis will be available in a rainbow of colours including blue, white, cherry and yellow.

The Nokia 603 should be launching just in time for Christmas in the UK and, given its specifications and price point, it should do very well indeed.
