LG soon to launch Triple SIM mobile phone

So far the triple SIM segment has been the domain of the low cost Indian and Chinese brands only. LG will enter in the segment soon.

Triple SIM category is relatively small in comparison to dual SIM segment and the reason is the absence of major players in the space. But with LG planning to launch a Triple SIM phone soon that might change.

Currently Triple SIM phones are available from brands like Micromax, Spice, Zen Mobile, G'Five and Intex and that too in very limited numbers and with very basic feature set.

But according to GSMarena, LG is going to launch the triple SIM phone-A290 in Russia in this month, for an asking price of €75 (Rs 4900 approximately).

The feature phone will sport a 2.2-inch display with a resolution of 176 x 220 pixels. Besides, it will have a 1.3 megapixel camera with flashlight and a 1500 mAh battery.

We expect that LG will launch the phone in India soon. Though the specs are not very exciting, it can have a very positive impact in the market as it is coming from a big player and a reputed brand. It could also push other players to being products in this category leading to the expansion in this potentially exciting market.
