Anjuman Mohibanne Rasool (PBUH) University Karachi on Friday organized an annual scholarship distribution program on Friday at the Arts Auditorium.
The Director International Center for Chemical and Biological Sciences Professor Dr Muhammad Iqbal Choudhary distributed the pay orders among the students. He lauded the role of KU-AMR (PBUH) and hoped that other societies would also follow them and help the talented students.
As many as 150 students from 30 different departments of the University of Karachi received their pay orders from Professor Dr Muhammad Iqbal Choudhary. He handover over a pay order of Rs50, 000/- each to 50 students of MPhil and PhD programs while 50 students of arts and Islamic studies faculties received a pay 0order of Rs25, 000/- each, and pay order of Rs50, 000/- was distributed among the 50 students of science faculty of the varsity.
Secretary KU-AMR (PBUH) Mansoor Hassan Qadri informed the audience that KU-AMR (PBUH) took the initiative to support the needy outstanding students of the University of Karachi around four years ago.
He mentioned that scholarships worth Rs3 million were distributed among 100 students last year and said that KU-AMR (PBUH) is hopeful that it will distribute more amounts among the students in the future.
Meanwhile, President KU-AMR (PBUH) Dr Sadiq Ali Khan shared that the KU-AMR (PBUH) was providing financial assistance to needy students so that they could continue their studies and later decided to launch an annual scholarship program for the students. He also shed light on the activities of KU-AMR (PBUH) since its establishment.
He said that KU-AMR (PBUH) was established around 12 years ago, and since then trying to serve the students by mentoring, and providing financial help, and guidance to them. He added that the KU-AMR (PBUH) also organizes several programs on regular basis throughout the year for the benefit of the students.
On this occasion, Abdul Jabbar Naqshbandi, Professor Dr Mujeed Ullah Qadri also spoke to the audience.
